Once you’ve seen Central Park under a fresh coat of snow, you’ll understand why we love winter in New York City—and we don’t just mean during the holidays. The period from January through March is prime time for exploring; locals and visitors often rave about the shorter lines and great deals to be found citywide. Ice-skating on one of our alfresco rinks is a must, and early sunsets don’t stand a chance against the art festivals and events that light up the five boroughs all winter long.
