A once-in-a-lifetime celebration, WorldPride 2019 commemorated the 50th anniversary of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, which began with the Stonewall Uprising here in New York City. Millions of people from across the globe visited the five boroughs for marches, festivals and parties.
For this special occasion, nycgo commissioned a group of NYC photographers to give us a glimpse into their WorldPride experience. Some marched, some danced, some performed and some even went to the beach. Their photo diaries create a collective pictorial tapestry of the unique spirit of NYC Pride, and show how different members of the LGBTQ+ community participated in this landmark event.
